Motorized Aviation - Pilot Information

The ÖAMTC emergency-rescue helicopters stationed in Niederöblarn (C14 and C99) always have priority!

  • The traffic circuit for motorized aircraft is located south of the runway.
  • The glider sector is located north of the runway.
  • Please pay close attention to open hangar doors (don't produce propellor draft in the hangar !)
  • The helipad west of the hangar is in constant operation (stopping and parking at the western end of the hangar is prohibited!!)
  • Do not overfly communities in the approach/take-off area.
  • Parked trailers and aircraft must be safely secured and anchored against external influences.
  • Sportsarea Grimming accepts no liability for damage of any kind.

  • Do not overfly Irdning, Espang, Nieder­öblarn or Öblarn.
  • Pay attention to MATZ Aigen (118.00 MHz). If 118.00 MHz is not manned, call 130.00 MHz (Aigen glider control).
  • Downwind approach to runway 04 along the bypass road, cross approach before Öblarn; otherwise, continue downwind approach along the bypass and turn west of Öblarn.

  • Traffic circuit crossing south of the airfield 3,200 ft above sea level.
  • Beginning before Niederöblarn, follow the bypass road, then across from Öblarn continue along the River Enns.

  • Do not overfly Öblarn, Nieder­­öblarn or Espang.
  • Standard departure from runway 22 with a turn to the east must follow the River Enns.
  • Lower-powered aircraft must make their turn west of Öblarn.
  • Minimum altitude to overfly the airfield is 3,200 ft (= altitude of the traffic circuit).
  • Pay attention to MATZ Aigen (118.00 MHz), clearance required. If 118.00 MHz is not manned, call 130.00 MHz (Aigen glider control).

  • Do not overfly Öblarn.
  • When departing from runway 22, pilots must follow the River Enns.
Winter

Winter Operations

Parking areas in front of the hangar are occupied in winter.
Contact Niederöblarn Airfield by phone before visiting.
If runway conditions are unsatisfactory (snow or ice), a NOTAM will be issued.
Due to snow-clearing, banks of snow will build up along the side of the runway  (height > 1m!)

  • The area in front of the helipad west of the hangar currently provides parking for trailers, though it can be activated at any time!
  • Trailers must be moved whenever need dictates!
  • Cars may not be parked there!

Fueling - General Info
  • The fueling station is north-west of the hangar.
  • Refueling aircraft must be parked on the concrete surface with integrated oil trap.
  • The required fueling key is available at the reception and must be returned when you are done.
  • When you return the fueling key at the office, it will be read and you will be charged accordingly.
  • Please note that the area in front of the fueling station must be kept free, since larger aircraft or helicopters may have to fuel up there at any time.
  • No liability is accepted for damage caused by objects that might swirl up!
